Eggplant
(Solanum melongena L.)
Eggplant (Solanum melongena) is an important vegetable crop. MolBreeding offers a ready-to-use GBTS panel for reliable, cost-effective genotyping to support genetic analysis, trait discovery, and eggplant breeding. For projects with specific genotyping requirements, custom GBTS panels can be developed. Contact us to discuss a solution tailored to your breeding program.
Genotyping by Targeted Sequencing (GBTS) Panels - Ready to use*

Reference genome:S076
*A ready-to-use GBTS panel is fully developed and assembled, allowing you to submit DNA or leaf tissue samples directly for rapid genotyping and data delivery. All panels can be customized with additional markers for specific traits or loci. To include your loci of interest, please contact us.
- Product Highlight

Enriched polymorphism selection and a broad spectrum of variation
Our panels provide comprehensive coverage of diverse genetic variations across germplasm resources.

Powerful functionality
Our GBTS panels are designed with an extensive array of trait-associated markers targeting critical traits in tomato breeding. They encompass vital aspects such as disease resistance, stress tolerance, fruit quality, and growth characteristics. These panels are a valuable resource for enhancing tomato varieties with superior traits, supporting efficient breeding programs and driving innovation in horticulture.

GenoBaits® Solanum 10K Panel
The GenoBaits® Solanum 10K Panel was developed through rigorous marker selection based on resequencing data from 226 eggplant germplasm accessions representing diverse phenotypic and genetic backgrounds. These accessions included 219 S. melongena, two closely related wild species (S. insanum and S. incanum), four scarlet eggplant (S. aethiopicum) accessions, and one S. violaceum accession, primarily distributed across East and Southeast Asia.
The panel comprises 9,901 core SNPs, 19,344 mSNPs, and 1,451 InDels, supporting genetic diversity analysis, germplasm characterization, and eggplant breeding applications.
